How can i connect my Creative Inspire 5.1 home theatre system to my DVD player???
Author: home theater // Category: Uncategorizedi have bought Creative Inspire 5.1 home theatre systemfor my pc. But it can not connect to my DVD player since the pin is not suiting for the DVD's AV code socket anyone say a remedy…………..
If the Inspire — there are various versions of stereo (e.g. 3100), 5.1 (e.g. 6100, 5500D) and even 7.1 (e.g. 7800) so I can't be more precise — has 3.5 mm stereo mini plugs you need three 3.5 mm stereo mini jack to dual RCA plug adapters

If the plugs are 1.8 stereo plugs, you need the smaller version of the same thing.
You ALSO need a suitable connections on the rear of the DVD player (specifically 6 discrete analog RCA jacks — one for each speaker — BUT these are only present on some DVD players (those that play DVD-A and SACD, for example).
If you don't have the outputs you will have to use just the stereo front pair — or bridge the rear and front using a dual miniplug socket to single miniplug Y-adapter.
If your Creative speakers work through a central controller box (e.g. the 5500D) it will have a digital (orange RCA jack) and optical input, so you could use either a digital coax cable or optical cable to connect the controller box and DVD player (Most DVD players have coax and/or optical outputs). The 5500D actually comes with these cables.
Hope that helps.
